The research focus of the Design and Innovation Management theme is: The creation and evaluation of strategies, tools and techniques that enable the successful management of innovation and downstream product design, development and launch. Research undertaken in this area is concerned with the impact of design and innovation in terms of the management of the process at both the strategic and operational levels. This theme facilitates consideration of how design competencies fit with other management activities to create a strategic offering for organisations. Within this theme, PDR undertakes many Knowledge Transfer projects to assist companies in the effective application of design. Further, PDR is a key partner in the Design Management Europe Award, a pan-European group of design focussed organisations that seeks to discover and reward best practice in design management. |
