PDR's work specifically in the usability and interaction of medical devices is extensive, particularly in reference to the key usability standards in Europe and the US (ISO 62366 and ANSI/AAMI HE:75). These are now an essential requirement of medical device design. In support of this, Jarred Evans and Ian Culverhouse recently attended a seminar focused on Medical Device Usability at UCL; organised by LEG (London Ergonomics Group) and the UK UPA (Usability Professionals' Association). The UPA of which PDR are members, supports professionals involved in all aspects of human-centred design from a broad range of disciplines. The evening united guest speakers involved in different areas of Medical Device Usability and Human Factors with design industry professionals and academics.
